We all know that with Spring comes the spring break crowds. Luckily at Keystone there are plenty of hidden gems around the mountain that can be a great escape. Here are our top, lesser known, groomer runs where you can find that fresh powder or perfect corduroy amidst all the spring break madness.
1. Whipsaw –
Whipsaw is a fun blue cruiser located on Dercum Mountain. Whipsaw can be accessed via the more popular Spring Dipper run, and provides a less crowded and excellent route down to the river run base area.
2. Santa Fe –
Much like Whipsaw, Santa Fe is also located on Dercum Mountain and can be accessed via Spring Dipper. If you are headed down to the River Run Base Area make sure you keep right off of Spring Dipper so you can enjoy this excellent blue with the occasional set of moguls to play around on.
3. Last Alamo –
If you are over on North Peak and looking for a wide open blue groomer to cruise down, Last Alamo is the run for you. Last Alamo also makes for a great North Peak warm up run if you are making your way to the Outback. Simply steer left after departing the Santiago lift and make your turns down this hidden gem.
4. Starfire –
Starfire is a great and steep black diamond run off of North Peak that is almost always groomed. You can hop on this run directly to the left of the Santiago Express lift and enjoy a fun, fast and direct passage down to the Labonte’s Beach area.
