Indulge at Keystone’s Culinary Festival

Keystone ski resort may be known for it’s kid-friendly atmosphere or its incredible views — but have you ever visited the resort looking for a culinary adventure?
Unless you’ve seen how baking at altitude is redefined by Keystone’s pastry magician, Ned Archibald, you haven’t truly experienced what the resort is all about. Come to Keystone March 4-6 for the Culinary Festival featuring a variety of events to please both your ski legs and your taste buds.
The Grand Tasting event featured atop Keystone Resort’s North Peak transforms Der Fondue Chessel and Alpenglow Stube into a cozy all inclusive dining experience. Guests are welcomed with a glass of bubbly and ushered to a variety of treats from all of Keystone’s fine dining establishments. Each unique sample is paired with a glass of wine or beer.
The Alpenglow Stube is turned into a chocolate factory showcasing delicious creations by our Executive Pastry Chef Ned Archibald.

Welcome Wine Dinner Event
World Celebration of Wine Dinner – 6:00pm
Join Chef Kevin McCombs and Sommelier Megan Morgan for a tour around the globe, as we explore the viticulture and culinary arts of the seven continents of the world. With seven courses and six wines, your experience will span the world. No luggage needed!

Alpenglow Stube Show Kitchen Demo – 10:30am
Welcome to the Alpenglow Stube Show Kitchen located atop North Peak at Keystone. During this one hour demo, you will enjoy a first hand look into a chefs gourmet kitchen. Stay for Lunch and receive 10 percent off your dining experience.
Location: Alpenglow Stube
Cost: Free $8 foot passenger gondola ticket available for non-skiers/riders.
Duration:1 hour (The demo starts at 10:30am, if guests arrive late they may miss the demo, this is a standing demo)

Chocolate Demo – 2:00pm
Executive Pastry Chef Ned Archibald shares his talent during this Chocolate Demo Class. This class can accommodate up to 25 people for a two hour long demonstration. Watch Ned demonstrate how to make various desserts. Learn the tricks of the trade when working with chocolate.

Unique red varietals and blends – 3:30pm
This wine tasting at the Ski Tip Lodge features unique red varietals and blends, and will be hosted by resident sommelier Megan Morgan. Megan will share her knowledge about new and interesting wines, many from unexpected regions or an unusual grape varietals. A complimentary cheese plate will also be available. Ice Carving Demo with Chef Steve Nguyen 11:00 am
Watch as Chef and Ice Carving Master Chef Steve Nguyen transforms blocks of ice into sculptures with his various power tools. Learn various facts about ice, how it is made, lighting effects and where Chef gets his creativity for such lavish sculptures. Don’t miss this demo full of chain saws and power tools as a masterpiece is produced.

Decadent Wellness: Presented by the Keystone Spa 11:30am

Farm to Table Seminar – 1:00pm
Our community’s journey to local — from community gardens to backyard chickens, come learn how we’re taking back our local food system by bringing the farm closer to the table. Jennifer Santry, Executive Director of the High Country Conservation Center and Co-Chair of the Summit County Food Policy Council, and Kevin Cannel, Farmer and Ranch Manager of Our Sustainable Village in Leadville, will present ongoing efforts to bring locally based agriculture via food policy and education to our schools, restaurants, and families.

Culinary Trends Cooking Class – 2:00pm
Colorado Mountain College Culinary Institute at Keystone Presents the latest in culinary trends. Learn how culinary trends blend with Colorado products to create great tasting cuisine and use these recipes to make your friends smile. The demonstration will focus on using Colorado grown and raised products to produce internationally inspired appetizers and entrees.

Champagne Brunch at 11,444ft 10:30am
Ranked as one of the best on-mountain restaurants in the country, Alpenglow Stube is described by Zagat Survey as “Fabulous old-world food and service and the best setting in the state.” Head to the top of North Peak at 11,444 ft , where your boots are exchanged for warm, fuzzy slippers. This unique menu includes a Mimosa, your choice of soup du jour, selection of entrée and an array of magnificent desserts. Don’t miss this ski in/ski out lunch at the highest AAA four Diamond restaurant in North America. If choose to ride the gondola instead of skiing in for brunch, then you must purchase a $8 Gondola Foot Passenger ticket at the Mountain Services Center, located in River Run Village across from the Gondola.
