Top Fourth of July events at Keystone

Thinking of skipping town in favor of cooler mountain temps and fresh air this Fourth of July holiday? You’re definitely not alone.
Maybe you’re one of the many Summit County revelers who religiously head up each year to enjoy the fireworks at Frisco’s Fabulous Fourth, or one of thousands who juggle coolers, kids, crowds and dogs at the Dillon Marina.
But did you know long before the sun goes down, the Tiki bar is packed and the beers are cracked, in a town not so far away lays a giant playground with a schedule packed full of activities? Make sure you get up early enough to enjoy some of the crowd pleasing family fun that Kidtopia and Keystone Resort have to offer for Fourth of July weekend.
River Run Rocks, River Run Plaza, Saturday July 2
Free concert? Yes please! At 3:30pm come show your gratitude for one of the most picturesque concert venues in the state by getting down to Five 13 , a local group with a throwback arena band style, followed by Six Million Dollar Band and their high energy 80s style new wave sound at 5:15pm.
Kids Free Fishing Derby, River Run, Monday July 4, 9am
Kicking off Independence Day celebrations this year is the Fishing Derby for kids 13 & under in Lakeside Village. Bring the whole family to cheer on the tots and enjoy a beautiful morning on the lake with raffle prizes, BBQ, and live music following the event. No barb, no bait. Registration starts at 8:00 am, Derby begins at 9:00 am. Fishing gear is not supplied so come prepared with your own tackle & fishing gear. Presented by Keystone Resort and Summit Fly Fishing. Bike Parade and Block Party, River Run, Monday July 4, 11am-3pm
Bring your bike, trike, or wagon for this popular Fourth of July tradition through the village. Following the kiddie bike parade is the first Kidtopia KidsFest event for the summer. A petting zoo, train rides, caricatures, face painter, balloon artist, crafts, games, mascots Olivia and Oliver, spin art, kids’ show, bounce houses and much more are offered for kids to check out. Don’t miss this Fourth of July tradition in Keystone’s River Run Village. Rain or Shine event.
Fireworks, Lakeside Village, Monday July 4, 9:00pm
Finish the night with fireworks over the lake in scenic Lakeside Village starting at 9:00pm. Everybody say “aaaaah.”
