NYE for the Whole Family
Ring in the New Year by celebrating with your loved ones. Keystone has a fun-filled day of activities and events available to you and your family for this special occasion. From Kidtopia’s day-long Scavenger Hunt in the morning, to our New Year’s Eve Fireworks Show and champagne toasts in the evening, there is fun to be had by guests of all ages, all day long. Use this as your Keystone Resort NYE guide so you don’t miss a thing!
Beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning, Kidtopia’s free Scavenger Hunt encourages families to collect all of the available stamps from around Keystone, and return the scavenger hunt book back to the River Run Village Activities and Dining Office for a special prize. The Scavenger Hunt can be completed within a day or over a couple of weeks, it is up to you to how to master the challenge!
Family Tubing with Ripperoo at the Nordic Center will take place from 2-3 p.m. on Thursday. This is a must-do experience for all ages! Keystone’s famous snow hound Ripperoo will be around to join in the fun. Also, tube rentals are free for the hour!
From 3:30-6:30 p.m., Keystone’s Family Cookie Decorating Party will be hosted at the Adventure Center located at Lakeside Village. Families can snack on complimentary cookies, and then enjoy ice skating at the Lakeside Village’s five-acre ice rink. It may also be wise to work your way over to the Lakeside Village around this time in order to prepare for the Lakeside Fireworks Show at 9 p.m.! If you happen to have dinner reservations in the River Run Village, it may suit you better to attend the 4 p.m. Cookie Time at Dercum Square Ice Rink where families can ice skate and enjoy complimentary fresh-baked cookies. The Torchlight Parade fires up at 6:30 p.m. as the Keystone Ski & Ride School heads down River Run to form a unique light display with the best views from River Run’s Gondola Plaza.
Exciting events like the Fireworks Viewing Party on the Lodge & Spa’s Terrace Deck, the best view in the house, kick off at 8:30 p.m. The Fireworks Viewing Party will provide a bird’s eye view of Keystone’s Fireworks Show at 9 p.m. This event will also include hand-passed appetizers, a champagne toast to coincide with the fireworks, and NYE party favors. In River Run Village, the doors for the NYE Concert at Warren Station will open at 8:30 p.m., and the musical opener Gipsy Moon will perform from 9 -10 p.m., followed by Trout Steak Revival from 10:15 p.m.-12:30 a.m. You can save $5 per person by purchasing your tickets online at www.warrenstation.com.
Many of Keystone’s restaurants will be hosting NYE dinners and celebrations. You can enjoy a great dinner followed by a fireworks viewing party at the Bighorn Bistro and Bar, celebrate the new year with an unforgettable meal at the Black Bear Grill, attend 9280’s tuneful NYE celebration complimented with a DJ, champagne toast and NYE ball drop at midnight, and much more! Most of the dining options are open to guests of all ages, however 9280’s NYE party is 21 and older.
There are many great locations to view the Lakeside Fireworks Show at 9 p.m. including the sidewalks anywhere along the North West end of Keystone Lake, The Adventure Center, the observation deck or breeze-way off of the Lobby of the Keystone Lodge & Spa. Decatur Hill Road will be accessible to pedestrian traffic and fireworks viewing. Also, free parking will be available in the following lots: Keystone Conference Center/ Keystone Lodge & Spa (across Highway 6 Parking) Lot (Lakeside Village), River Run Parking Lot (River Run Village), and Pika Parking Lot (Mountain House). Don’t worry if you’re missing out on Keystone’s New Year’s Eve weekend, because all of the family fun continues throughout the season! Kidtopia Headquarters is open every week from Wednesday to Sunday for guests to plan fun adventures and daily activities; Ripperoo’s Parade followed by Fireworks takes place every Saturday evening, and a whole lot more is offered throughout the week.
