To me, family vacations are synonymous with life-long memories, bonding moments, endless laughter, and stories I’ll never forget. And to me, all of the above would be synonymous with the holidays as well. Some of the most fun I’ve ever had on family vacations also coincided with the holidays. By the time Thanksgiving arrives, Keystone will have been open for nearly a month. Let someone else do the cooking (and perhaps more importantly, the cleaning-up) for your family’s Thanksgiving feast. Many of our restaurants will have a custom tailored menu for turkey-day. One such option is to hop on the River Run Gondola before taking the Outpost Gondola to North Peak, where you’ll find the Alpenglow Stube perched at 11,444-feet above elevation. This is the highest AAA Four-Diamond dining experience in North America. How many other Thanksgiving meals require a two-gondola-ride adventure?

Don’t want anyone else cooking your Thanksgiving bird? No problem. Host your family and friends at one of our many lodging options that contain full-sized kitchens. A personal favorite that I feel would be an ideal setting for Thanksgiving would be the Settlers Creek Townhomes, which feature spacious, high-end kitchens in a quiet, wooded mountain getaway. After your Thanksgiving meal, relax in the on-site hot tub or pool.

On display at our Keystone Lodge and Spa from Dec. 19, 2014-Jan. 4, 2015 and free to attend, our Executive Pastry Chef Ned Archibald utilizes 8,000 pounds of imported chocolate for the Chocolate Village, complete with various winter scenes.

After enjoying the Chocolate Village, head outside to Keystone’s 5-acre ice skating rink at our Lakeside Village. A lit Christmas tree stands at center ice on America’s largest outdoor Zamboni-maintained ice skating rink (it even features a hockey rink).
