Welcome to Keystone

A Great Start to the New Year

With 13″ of new snow and 2,155 acres of skiable terrain it has been an amazing start to 2014! We have kicked off the new year with significantly more snow than the historical average. January is only just beginning, but we have high hopes that these snow and weather trends are painting a picture of what the rest of the season will look like.

Things are looking promising for this week with a 40% chance that the snow will be returning to us beginning on Tuesday night and continuing on into the rest of the week.

There is a lot going on this month, both in the industry and here at Keystone. January is a great month to celebrate the sport the brings us to the mountains. Across the industry resorts are celebrating both Skier Safety month, and Learn to Ski and Ride Month. Make sure to check out Keystone’s events calendar for all sorts of activities going on throughout the month.

This week, to celebrate Skier Safety Month, Keystone is offering up free Beacon Bowl and Avi Gear Demos. Educate yourself on the basics of avalanche rescue with this class focusing on beacon, shovel, and probe rescue techniques, all the while snuggling up to one of our four Avalanche rescue dogs.

Also coming up this weekend is the 3rd Burton Mountain Festival where riders will have the chance to demo boards, boots, and bindings from the 2014 Burton Line. The event will take place over at the Mountain House Base area, all weekend and will be accompanied by live music, sponsor giveaways, an amateur snowboard contest, and an after-party at the Last Lift Bar.

Things are looking good over here at Keystone, so come see for yourself and join us this week!
